In response to the Western Pacific Regional Food Safety Strategy 2011-2015 of World Health Organization, the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department will organize ‘High Risk Food' – Food Safety Talk (talk). The objective is to enhance food safety training and education for food handlers engaged in handling high-risk food. The talk will be arranged in all districts in Hong Kong in 2014/15. Coupled with the active participation and collaboration between the Government and stakeholders, food safety can be enhanced. The consumers will be enjoying the dishes happily with confidence.

The talk will be conducted in CANTONESE and FREE of charge.

Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance by post after the talk.

  1. complete the enrollment slip and return it by mail or by fax (2893 3547); or
  2. call our Reservation Hotline at Tel. No. 2867 5147 during office hours (Monday to Friday From 9:00 am. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.) (except Public Holiday); or
  3. Return (e-FORM) through internet at the websites of Centre for Food Safety.

We now accept registration from food handlers of all food premises. Nevertheless, registrations from food handlers working at Yuen Long District and Tuen Mun District are prioritized.

In case of tropical cyclones or rainstorm warning, the following arrangements shall apply:

If red/amber rainstorm warning or No.1/3 tropical cyclone signal is in effect, the talk will be conducted as usual.

If black rainstorm warning is in effect, the related arrangements are as follows:

If the signal is cancelled between 7:00am to 9:00am, the morning session will be cancelled; and the afternoon session will be conducted as usual.

If No. 8 tropical cyclone signal or above is in effect, the talk will be cancelled. If No. 8 tropical cyclone signal or above is cancelled before the talk, the related arrangements are as follows:

If the signal is cancelled 3 hours before the session, the talk will be conducted as usual.

Enrollees shall be advised by phone call in due course the alternative arrangement due to cancellation of talks under severe weather condition.
