The Food Safety Seminar for Trade is a biennial function of the FEHD which was started in Year 2003. It aims to provide a forum for interactive exchange of information and views on current and important food safety issues in Hong Kong between the food trade and the Government.

This year, we aim to achieve the following objectives:

    1. To provide a brief on food safety issues that are of concern;
    2. To update the latest regulatory requirements and guidelines on food safety in Hong Kong;
    3. To introduce new food safety initiatives and programmes on food safety;
    4. To promote the importance of tripartite collaboration among the food trade, the public and the Government to ensure food safety;

The Centre for Food safety will take the opportunity to introduce the results of Survey on “5 Keys to Food Safety” and the “Food Safety Charter 2009”.In the same occasion, the “Food Safety Charter 2009 Presentation Ceremony” will be conducted and representatives from food trade associations will be invited to receive the Food Safety Charter 2009 certificate in the ceremony.
