The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) is tasked to protect public health and enhance food safety regulation, in order to raise public confidence in food safety. To control and prevent food hazards, the CFS conducts the Food Surveillance Programme and takes samples at import, wholesale and retail levels for microbiological, chemical and radiation testings. Microbiological testing covers both bacteria and viruses, while chemical testing includes colouring matters, contaminants, food additives, preservatives, nutrient contents and natural toxins etc. The test results of unsatisfactory samples and satisfactory follow-up samples are listed as follows:
