"Food Safety Day" is an annual major event of the Centre for Food Safety (CFS) with an aim to promote tripartite collaboration among the food trade, consumers and the Government in ensuring food safety.

Nutrition Labelling Scheme for prepackaged food will come into force on 1 July 2010. The CFS launched a three-phase Publicity and Education Campaign on Nutrition Labelling in March this year. The focus of the work during the first phase is to raise the public's awareness of nutrition labelling. As such, the CFS together with the Radio Television Hong Kong co-organise the "Food Safety Day 2009" with the theme on nutrition labelling and the slogan "Turn and Look for Healthier Food Choices". We aim to enhance the awareness and knowledge of nutrition labelling of the general public and to encourage the use of nutrition labels to make healthier food choices.
