Place of origin: China

Reason For Issuing Alert

Two samples in different batches taken from an importer and a distributor were found to contain Bacillus cereus at levels that are potentially hazardous to consumers.

Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety

The CFS visited the offices of importer and the distributor for investigation. All remaining stocks of the concerned product were disposed of.

The CFS has alerted the trade and has issued warning letters to the relevant distributor and importer.

The CFS has informed the Mainland authorities of the incident. The CFS will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate follow-up actions.

Advice to the Trade

Stop selling or using the affected product.

Advice to Consumers

Stop consuming the affected product, regardless of any batch. Seek medical treatment if feeling unwell after eating the product.
