Introduction

In Hong Kong, the Centre for Food (CFS) implements a routine surveillance programme on AMR in raw meat as well as ready-to-eat food. Based on the recent surveillance results, the CFS urges food businesses to stay vigilant on food safety as inappropriate food handling encourages the spread of AMR and education in safe food handling is a key measure for the prevention of foodborne diseases. To this end, CFS has held an online talk for the trade on how to follow the "Five Keys to Food Safety" to prevent food poisoning and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in food.
