Food Safety Day 2014

Talk Series on "Safe and Smart Ways to Cook"

The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) will organise, in collaboration with food trade associations, food safety talks during the period from July to December 2014. The contents of the talk are designed to promote, to the general public and the food trade alike, some tips on how to reduce production of harmful contaminants during the cooking process and how to reduce the risk of natural toxins in foods. Besides, we will take this opportunity to introduce ways to reduce sodium and sugars content in foods. It is hoped that by raising awareness on the importance of food safety and healthy diet, everyone can enjoy food in a safe and healthy way.

The series of talks will focus on the three main topics listed below:

  1. Safe and Smart Ways to Cook
  2. Natural Toxic Substances in Food
  3. Reduction of Sodium and Sugars in Foods
