Highlights of Final Round and Award Presentation Ceremony of “Secondary School Food Safety and Nutrition Labelling Quiz Competition”

The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) held the Final Round and Award Presentation Ceremony of “Secondary School Food Safety and Nutrition Labelling Quiz Competition” (Competition) at Chiang Chen Studio Theatre of Polytechnic University on 4 July 2014 (Friday). The Acting Consultant of the CFS, Dr Samuel Yeung, the Chairman of the Expert Committee on Food Safety, Professor Ma Ching-yung, and the Curriculum Development Officer of the Education Bureau, Ms Poon Suk-mei were the judges of the Competition. After three sessions of keen competition, Sing Yin Secondary School was awarded the Champion, St. Clare's Girls' School and Buddhist Yip Kei Nam Memorial College was awarded the first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.

To show the support and encouragement for the contestants, each school which enters the final round of the Competition sent a support team and competed for “The Best Support Team” award. The judges selected the winner based on the content of their presentation (relevance to the theme of the Competition), creativity and unity. The support team of St. Clare's Girls' School delivered food safety messages in form of rap and slogans. They also demonstrated creativity and unity by echoing with the schoolmates on floor and finally awarded “The Best Support Team”.
