Notice Regarding the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance
Purpose of CollectionThe personal data are provided by individuals to the Centre for Food Safety, Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (“this Department”) for the purpose of activities relating to processing this application; delivering food safety related messages and information of this Department; and facilitating communications between the Government and the applicant. The provision of personal data is voluntary. If you do not provide sufficient information, we may not be able to process your application or provide assistance to you where appropriate.
Access to Personal DataYou have a right of access and correction with respect to personal data as provided for in Sections 18 and 22 and Principle 6 of Schedule 1 of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
Retention of Personal DataThis Department will only retain your personal data for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes this Department collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, this Department will consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the purposes for which this Department process your personal data and whether this Department can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements. Should there be a need to retain personal data for statistical purposes, such personal data will be anonymised so that the individuals concerned can no longer be identified.
