Blueberry yogurt suspected of containing plastic or glass fragments

The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) today (April 1) advised people not to eat certain batches of Stonyfield Farm's organic fat-free blueberry yogurt from the USA as they might contain plastic or glass fragments.

The CFS also appealed to the food trade to stop selling the product.

The affected product is "Stonyfield Farm Organic Fat Free Blueberry Yogurt", packaged in six-ounce cups, carrying the product codes printed along the cup bottom that start with the following dates:

Apr 13 08
Apr 14 08
Apr 15 08
April 25 08
Apr 26 08

According to the US authorities, the company concerned is recalling the affected products.

"The CFS has contacted the US authorities for more information. We have alerted the trade and are closely monitoring the situation," a CFS spokesman said.
