Reason For Issuing Alert

The concerned products was detected with di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP). DEHP is a plasticiser and has been found to cause damages to liver, kidney, reproduction and development when given to animals in large doses.
Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety

The CFS has alerted the trade and instructed the importer and retailers to recall the affected consignment of the product.

Conduct checks at retail outlets. Samples of the concerned and other related products will be taken for testing.

The CFS will closely monitor the situation and take appropriate follow-up actions.
