Dean Stockwell is General Manager (Food Standards) for Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ). FSANZ is a trans-Tasman authority which has responsibility for setting food standards that apply in both Australia and New Zealand.
Based in Wellington, New Zealand, Dean has executive responsibility for the Labelling and Information Standards, Product Safety Standards and Finance sections of FSANZ and for stakeholder relationships in New Zealand.
Dean has qualifications in food technology and business. Prior to joining FSANZ, Dean worked in food industry and food research with experience spanning R&D and innovation management, quality assurance, technical and production management, and business development. He has also had key roles in strategy and business start-up projects.
Dean is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Food Science and Technology, a Life Member of the NZ Nutrition Foundation and a former board member and Chair of JAS-ANZ, the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand.
