Highlight of Award Presentation Ceremony

The Centre for Food Safety and the Education Bureau co-organised Food Safety Day 2011 cum "Live It, Use It" Nutrition Labelling Promotion Award Scheme Award Presentation Ceremony on 8 July 2011 (Friday) at 2:00 pm at Rayson Huang Theatre, The University of Hong Kong. This event was officiated by Dr York CHOW, GBS, JP, Secretary for Food and Health. The posters designed by the school teams were exhibited at the event venue. Students shared their experience in promoting nutrition labelling. Performances were arranged for entertaining guests, students and the public admitted to the venue.

The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow (centre), officiated at the opening ceremony of the Food Safety Day 2011 cum "Live It, Use It" Nutrition Labelling Promotion Award Scheme Award Presentation Ceremony. Other officiating guests included the Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene, Mr Clement Leung; the Controller of the Centre for Food Safety, Dr Constance Chan; the Principal Assistant Secretary for Education (Curriculum Development), Dr Cheung Kwok-wah; the Chairman of the Expert Committee on Food Safety, Professor Kwan Hoi-shan; artiste, Miss Vanessa Yeung; and representatives of organisations in support of nutrition labelling education.

The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow, chated with artiste, Miss Vanessa Yeung, about how to use nutrition labels to make healthier food choices. Miss Yeung played a key role in the latest TV Announcement in the Public Interest on nutrition labelling.
