CFS announces latest test results of meat and poultry from Brazil

The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said today (March 23) that the Centre has continued its enhanced surveillance on meat and poultry from Brazil. Since March 21, a total of 27 samples were taken at the import and retail level for testing of meat deterioration and other food safety indicators (such as metallic contaminants). The test results showed that all samples were satisfactory.

The Centre will continue to maintain liaison with the Brazilian authorities to obtain more detailed information for risk reassessment and will suitably review its follow-up actions in response to the latest development.
