CFS follows up on Mainland infant formula

In response to media enquiries, a spokesman for the Centre for Food Safety (CFS) said today (September 15):

"On reports that certain Taiwan-produced canned drinks, which had used 'Sanlu' brand milk powder in the production process, are on sale locally, CFS staff members today inspected retail outlets. They found that apart from the reported two drinks - '尚効 Carbonize Coffee' (280ml) and '尚効 Papaya Milk Drink' (350ml) - the '尚効 Assam Milk Tea' (350ml) is also on sale.

"The CFS has taken samples of all these three drinks for tests. The retail chain selling these canned drinks has stopped sale of the products.

"We appeal to the public not to consume these drinks. The CFS will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure food safety."
