Warning on baked goods containing plastic pieces

The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) today (December 20) advised people not to eat six types of baked goods, all manufactured by Mrs Mac's Pty Ltd in Australia, due to possible contamination with small plastic pieces.

The company concerned is conducting a voluntary recall of the products. The affected products are as follows:

*All individually wrapped Mrs Mac's products
*All Bakewell and Bakewell Classic products
*All individually wrapped Mrs Mac's Good Eating products

Fresh: Use by 19/12/07 to 26/12/07
Frozen: Best before 10/06/09 to 14/06/09 and 10/12/08 to 14/12/08

*Red Embers Chicken Leek & Mushroom Pies, 175g
*Red Embers Greek Souvlaki Pies, 175g
*Red Embers Premium Sausage Roll, 175g

Frozen: Best before 10/12/08 to 14/12/08

"According to information provided by the manufacturing company, the affected products have been exported to Hong Kong.

"The CFS has alerted the trade to stop selling these products. The Centre will monitor the situation closely," a CFS spokesman said.
