Tests of duck egg samples satisfactory

Results of tests on 10 duck egg samples collected earlier for Sudan dyes were all found to be satisfactory, the Centre for Food Safety (CFS) said today (November 15).

A CFS spokesman said the testing was conducted to assess the situation after Sudan dyes were reportedly detected in duck eggs on the Mainland.

The samples were collected at both wholesale and retail outlets.

"The CFS will continue to monitor the situation and take follow-up action as necessary," the spokesman said.
