Workshop of Consumer Liaison Group - Healthy Snack Making

Two workshops on the above topic were held on 25 August 2015 and 11 November 2015 at the Communication Resource Unit (CRU) of Centre for Food Safety (CFS) to share with members tips o n making healthy snack in order to promote healthy diet and food safety.

Response
Members had high engagement in the workshops. The workshops can help members to improve their understanding on nutrition label, food safety and the importance of healthy diet.

Focus Group Meeting on Members' View on Food safety Information

The above meeting was held on 26 February 2016 at the Communication Resource Unit (CRU) of Centre for Food Safety (CFS) to explore members' opinions on different food safety information. A summary of the discussions has been published on the eighth issue of the Consumer Liaison Group Newsletter.

This discussion enables us know the social media which are used by members most frequently, opinions on receiving food safety information, actions after receiving food safety information and views towards the Food Safety App of CFS.

The above meeting was held on 15 July 2016 and 22 July 2016 at the Communication Resource Unit (CRU) of Centre for Food Safety (CFS) to explore members' opinion on habit in handling fruits and vegetables. This discussion enables us to understand members' opinion on processing vegetables and fruits, on the relevant promotional material of CFS, their views towards the suggestions of CFS.

This meeting enables us to know members’ habit in using WhatsApp, views on using WhatsApp to disseminate food safety messages and types of food safety messages members wanted to receive.

Response
Overall, the participants in the panel had highest acceptance of patties with the lowest sodium content. There was indeed room for the trade to reformulate the recipe to reduce sodium content in food.
