Place of origin: China

Reason For Issuing Alert

Two samples in different batches taken from an importer and a distributor were found to contain Bacillus cereus at levels that are potentially hazardous to consumers.

Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety

- The CFS visited the offices of importer and the distributor for investigation. All remaining stocks of the concerned product were disposed of.
- The CFS has alerted the trade and has issued warning letters to the relevant distributor and importer.
- The CFS has informed the Mainland authorities of the incident. The CFS will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate follow-up actions.

Stop selling or using the affected product.

Advice to Consumers

Stop consuming the affected product, regardless of any batch. Seek medical treatment if feeling unwell after eating the product.
