Reason For Issuing Alert

The concerned products was detected with di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP). DEHP is a plasticiser and has been found to cause damages to liver, kidney, reproduction and development when given to animals in large doses.

Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety

- The CFS has alerted the trade and instructed the importer and retailers to recall the affected consignment of the product.
- Conduct checks at retail outlets. Samples of the concerned and other related products will be taken for testing.
- The CFS will closely monitor the situation and take appropriate follow-up actions.

Stop selling the affected product.
