Reason For Issuing Alert

The concerned product contained plasticiser di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) at a level of 8.7 ppm. DEHP is a plasticizer and has been found to cause damages to liver, kidney, reproduction and development when given to animals in large doses.

Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety

Instructed the importer to stop sale of the affected products.

Stop consuming the concerned product.
